Congratulations to Brandon Brewster! He is the recipient of the 2008 V & E Gomez Scholarship.

One of the most pressing needs in higher education today is funding for scholarships. Scholarships allow deserving students to attain their educational goals, meet their professional objectives and succeed to their fullest ability. In the 2007-2008 school year we at the V & E Gomez scholarship fund would like to help a student break though the barriers that have been set in our community financially.

The V & E Scholarship fund is dedicated after two great women, Virginia “Ginny” Gomez and her Mother-In-Law Elidia “Pita” Gomez.  They both lived in Van Horn and wanted nothing more than to help the youth of our community achieve their goals in life.  They are greatly missed but there names live on.

All monies raised will be used for funding the scholarship only.  Please be on the look out for our fund raisers in the near future.
